On Friday afternoon we gathered the kiddies and headed out to one of my favorite places on the planet. Seriously. I don't know why, but I LOVE all things near and around Bryce Canyon. That includes, Panguich and Red Canyon. I suspect my feelings might also have something to do with the wonderful Leon and Claudia Crump (Adam's Cousins) that live there too. And, the fact that Adam's grandfather lived in Escalante. Or it could be the vividly red dirt and gorgeously blue skies...Well, regardless of the reason, I adore it there! Here were our favorite highlights...
Saturday morning I ran in the Bryce Canyon 5 Mile Rim Run/Walk. You will be so proud of me...I finished 4th place in my age division and 19th overall. What? That would be because there were only about 65 people running! But, I can still brag right? Here's the proof:
After the run, we headed back to the Crump's (who let us crash there all weekend) and gorged ourselves on Leon's amazing cooking. And then look what I made Saturday afternoon:
Claudia has MAD quilting skills. And, she shared them with me. It was FUN! And, I can teach you how to make this quilt too...if you like! It was THAT easy!
Sunday afternoon we took the kids on a short hike to Mossy Cave and waterfall. It's near Bryce, but not in the park...which = free for us! The girls loved it, and it was just the right distance, no whining kids to be heard for miles.
We'll be headed back sometime in November to finish a few projects Adam was working on with Leon...and my QUILT! Can't wait! Thanks for the wonderful weekend Crump's! Love your guts!

Great job on the run!! You are one of my inspirations to get into running (and hopefully, eventually, to even like it=)
I haven't been to Bryce Canyon in a long time, but I totally recognize that waterfall. Looks like a great time! Maybe it is time for me to go back...
