Life

Sometimes life throws you curve balls...for us right now that's no work! Due to the economy and other unforeseen events, we are cutting back on all of our expenses...which means I have to cancel our internet! Yuck! We will probably be getting a cheap dial up. This means...I probably will rarely update this page, so I'll keep it open and hopefully when things get better, maybe I can pick up where I left off. Otherwise...I may try to post every now and then, but who knows what it will be like. We'll blog ya soon!

Princess Sophie

I love being an aunt! Miss Sophie Anne Lyon decided to join our crazy family this morning at 6:49am. She was 8 lbs and 21 inches long...with LOTS of dark brown hair. I'm pretty sure it will be blonde soon though! She is a sweet little miss and we love her already! Audrey kept asking Christa where the baby went in her belly...even though she was holding it in her arms. And Lauren had the giggles the entire time, as she was poking and prodding the poor girl. She kept taking her little hat off too...what a bully! She learned it from her sister!

Here's some fun pics for everyone...especially Jess! We miss you!

Snowboarding Chicks

In December my friend Amy finally convinced me to try snowboarding lessons. It took 15 years for me to decide to try a winter sport. The reason for this is that I HATE being cold! Uggh. (The hot hands warmer company is making a lot of money off of me!) I took a class with 2 other friends and we went to three 2 1/2 hour classes at Brighton. The first lesson was fun...the second lesson was NOT fun...and by the third lesson I was hooked. I have a lot more practicing to do before I'm any good at it, but I really want to look like those professionals that fly down the mountain. So...I'm not giving up, and one day I'm going to be the King of the Mountain...and I'm going to beat Adam down the hill! He won't even see me coming.

These first few pictures were from our first lesson...pretty exciting.

The three of us...Michelle, me and Amy

Adam telling me what to do. He's so bossy like that.

Me wondering what the heck I was thinking doing this.

These pictures are from our last day. You can totally tell we're way better than when we started can't you?

The Wonderful Thing About Tiggers...

Is Tiggers are wonderful Chaps! Their tops are made out of rubber, their bottoms are made out of springs! Their bouncy, flouncy, trouncy, pouncy, fun, fun, fun, fun, FUN! The wonderful thing about Tiggers...is I'm the only one!

And...that, in a nutshell, describes the six 3-year-old's that were bouncing around the stage on Saturday afternoon! It was our Winter Revue at Audrey's tumbling studio and we had a great time! I took some video for all to enjoy. I'm so proud of Audrey! This was her first time ever being in front of a crowd like this. As you will see, the first go round wasn't a big success, but the second time was a charm. I asked Miss Teresa what she said to get them to bounce like Tiggers...and it went like this, "If you do your Tigger song, I'll give you candy!" And that's all you need to bribe a 3-year-old! The first thing she said to me when I got backstage was, "I want to do it again!" We love the spotlight.

Here's the video from our Friday morning class. This is how the routine was supposed to go (P.S. notice the nose picking, and eating. What a treasure I have to show her future boyfriends someday!):

And, this is how the 1st attempt on Saturday afternoon went (Audrey is last on the left):

And finally, this was the result after being tempted with candy. I only got about 1/2 the performance because I was on my way to get Audrey backstage when the curtain went up again (Audrey is still last on the left, and furthest away!):

It's a Shower

Last Saturday we threw a shower for my sister Christa! It was a great success...we decorated everything in pink and brown...with polka dots. I got some great Valentine's Day decorations. I had to take pictures of everything, for me and for Jessica to see. She couldn't make it in for the shower...but she was there in spirit! As you can see from the pictures...she came in her best formal attire! I'm so excited to meet my new little niece, due February 26th. Thanks to everyone who came to celebrate with Christa!
