That's Just My Opinion

In the last 24 hours it has become very apparent to me that
people don't like to be told what to do.

I know some of you are saying,
"Hello! No news there!"
But, I always like to give people
the benefit of the doubt.
I always want to think the best of people,
and believe they will take what is said,
sift it through,
keep what is worth keeping,
and throw the rest away.
(Without throwing it in my face please.)

People don't like an opinion,
if it's not in accordance with their own.
They like to take what you tell them,
and twist it to become what they see.
Even when it's not reality.
What is wrong with people?

I would like to live in a world
where I can tell you my opinion,
and you won't tell me I'm wrong,
just because it's not the same opinion as yours.
I would like people to like me
because I'm not afraid to share my opinion.
I would NOT like to live in fear,
that you will publicly reprimand me
for my opinion made in private.
I would like to be respected,
even if you don't see eye to eye with me.

I do the same for you.
And, since this is MY blog,
I can say what I want.
And, you can leave your comment,
since we live in America,
and we believe in the whole
1st amendment thing.
Just don't be too mean please.

After all,
sometimes that opinion is shared,
just because I love you.
