I realized today that I am failing miserably.
At what you might ask?
Motherhood.
Some days I feel like
it's a career that I should have done
more research on,
before jumping in!
And you?
You know when you were little,
and you made your mother
this wonderful art project at school:
Marvelous
Outstanding
Terriffic
Helpful
Encouraging
Radical
I did it, you did it, we all did it.
I have decided that at this point,
in my children's young lives,
this is how it would read:
Man
did she know how to slam a door.
Oh boy,
could she yell!
Told
terrific bedtime stories.
Had
a serious obsession with bubbles,
of the diet drink kind,
it's what killed her you know.
Everyone
loved her rolls,
the homemade ones,
not the ones on her belly.
Really
liked to run.
Sheesh.
I have a lot of work to do.
Off I go...

Don't be a silly loon crazy lady! If your's read that way, what would mine say?! I bet it reads differently by mother's day...
We ALL have those days/weeks/months ;) There are times when I have wondered why God would be so crazy as to send me 5 kids to raise. Certainly someone could have done it better than I do! You are a great mom, don't be too hard on yourself :) We all have our moments that we wish we could redo!!!
You are silly. I thought for a minute that you were talking about mother. I read the slamming door, and the yelling! Ha ha ha. I wonder what sophie would say about me. She would say that I too am obsessed with the bubbly,I exercise way to much, and I give her way to much fruits and veggies, not enough junk!
Oh Rachel, this must be "one of those days" everybody would tell you, right? I am so sorry you were not feeling appreciated as a mother. I am sure every mother feels that way sometimes. I know I do, and it usually happens around that time of the month.
You know, I think you are a great mom. I have seen you interact with your beautiful girls, and I feel that you are just naturally a loving mom with tons of patience. I hope you feel better. :) Love you tons!
I really think that you read my mind. I think most days end with me wondering what in the world went wrong. At first I thought it was just because my oldest is very strong willed. But now Calvin is becoming more and more crazy. Then I wonder how I can have two crazy boys and the other day it hit me--the common denominator is me and not them.
I wish we lived closer. We could laugh and cry about it together.
