"The End" of 101.9

***Disclaimer: I tend to obsess about things sometimes,
that are not that big of a deal.

This may qualify as one of those times.

10 years.
That is how long I've listened to the morning show
on 101.9 "The End".

Of course,
Back then it was 107.5 "The End",
and it was Chunga and Marcus.
Then Marcus was ridiculous, and got himself fired.
Mister took up residence,
and "The Chunga and Mister Show" was born.

Every morning, Every Morning,
I faithfully listened.
It became an important part of starting my day.

Two of my favorite moments:

6:00am,
Alarm goes off,
I wake up to
Chunga's Daily Affirmation.
Go Ahead. Give it a listen.

Uncontrollable laughter followed.
At 6:00am.

Almost 3 years ago, at 7:00am, I was in labor.
Lauren was on her way,
and we were flying to the hospital.
I had never been in real labor.
Audrey was induced, drugs followed shortly after,
and I was in pain-free birthing bliss.

This time, and I'm grateful for the experience,
Lauren came on her own.

And it was indescribable,
burning,
searing,
pain.
And...the whole car ride to the hospital,
I was laughing at the Stupid News, with Chunga and Mister.
I still remember thinking,
"If you can get a girl in full labor to laugh,
when she's in the worst pain she's ever experienced in her life,
you've got something good."
And, I was grateful they did.

Over the last few years, children have made sleep a priority,
and morning shows were not. But, if I was up early,
I was tuned in. When I tuned in last Wednesday, and found
the show was gone, to say I was a little bummed,
would be an understatement. It seems corporate America
has turned our radio experience into a DJ-free, human-free
machine. And, it seems a tragedy to me. We don't even get
"one last show" to say goodbye? I'll never understand how
they work, and frankly I don't want to.

So...here's my goodbye:
Farewell Chunga, Mister, Casey, Cort.
You will be missed.
(even though I know some of you have been gone for a while now.)
Great talent is fleeting,
Mediocrity is invading.
One day we'll tell our children what a DJ was,
before computer announcer voices,
Nickleback, and Ja Rule

took over the radio.
Thanks for taking me along on your ride.

P.S. Adam and I officially decided today that when things get stabilized financially for us, we're signing up for satellite radio. Take that!

Audrey's Birth Day

At this very moment,
I was pushing with all my might,
to give birth to my first daughter.
It took TWO hours of pushing,
and extreme exhaustion,
to get her here!
But, I wouldn't change it for the world...

Audrey is a joy to have around.
She loves to love you.
Truly.
She is a mighty tumbler,
a great helper,
an aspiring artist,
an alphabet know-it-all,
bike riding,
donut loving,
beautiful little girl.

We are so blessed to have here in our family!!
Love you for always little one!

Easter and Fun in Park City

As I sit here writing this post,
my husband is parked on the couch,
in the other room,
watching Zombieland.
And, before you ask...
I don't know why!
I can hear the Zombies,
and they sound HORRIFIC.
I had to go in the other room
to get a load of laundry,
and I was closing my eyes
like my 5-year-old,
so I would be able to sleep tonight.
But, from the sound of things,
I might not be anyways.
(door shutting)

Now...
on to other things.
I never got the pictures from
Easter Sunday on here,
and I know you've been
on pins an needles.
So, here you go.

And shortly following,
you will find pictures from our adventure to
Park City last week.
One of my AMAZING cousins
(I have too many to pick just one)
rented a most wonderful condo
for the week in Park City,
and invited us to spend a couple of days,
and a night.
The Miner's Club it was called,
and fabulous it was.
From the heated pool
and spacious hot tub,
to the 4 bedrooms,
each with their own bathroom...
I would stay here any day!
Too bad it's part of a vacation club,
and I'm not a member!
But next year John,
we will be there!
And we're snowboarding with you!
Thanks for letting us crash your party!!!

Soul Sister

Want to see what we were doing today?
Click below...

This is currently my girls FAVORITE song in the entire world.
They sing along every chance they get.
Lauren is singing it right now,
while we preview the post.
Sorry it's a little long.
I would like to point out the random tumbling acts
that Audrey throws in there,
and Lauren's attempt to copy them.
And, the fact that they think
running around the couch as fast as possible,
is dancing.
So entertaining.
I love my girls!

Easter Wishes

I officially LOVE Easter
falling on Conference Weekend.
Being filled with hope and
hearing marvelous stories of
our Savior, and the true
reason we celebrate Easter...

I can't think of a better way
to spend an Easter Sunday.

HOPPY EASTER!
