Yes, I admit it. I was highly anticipating the release of the Twilight movie last Friday night. A group of 6 of us bought tickets early and went to see it together. I have to say that I went in with really low expectiations and was pleasantly surprised that I didn't hate it. I loved almost all the people they chose to fill the character roles (except for Rosalie) and especially felt that Stewart and Pattison had great chemistry as Bella and Edward. That said, I thought the screenwriting was horrendous! I would love to know why they chose to focus on some things and completely eliminate other things (like Jasper's talent to calm people)? I felt like they didn't have any true or deep character development...especially the vampire characters. And, I really think that if you haven't read the books you will not enjoy the movie that much. Don't get me wrong, I didn't hate the movie. But, I'm pretty sure I won't go see it in the theatre again, and it's not one I would buy and watch over and over. I'm hoping that as the budgets get higher for the next few, the movies will improve too. If they don't, I'll be disappointed. Sorry if anyone is bugged by my feelings on the movie, but from talking with most my friends they feel the same way too...so I know I'm not alone!
P.S. And what was Bella wearing to the prom?! Leggings under her dress and Chuck Taylor's! Is this Juno? Okay, I'm done.

I have to say "Ditto" to all of your comments. I saw it twice in the theater - the midnight showing and again at 1pm on Friday with 5 girlfriends. Had I not already purchased the ticket for the afternoon showing, I wouldn't have spent the money to see it again. I liked it--but I was expecting to LOVE it with all the hype it got. I read more about it when I got home and learned they only spent 5 weeks coming up with the screenplay and only 35 mil to make it -- that's 1/2 to 1/3 of a standard movie budget these days. I hope, like you, that the next one serves the book justice, and the talent of Stephenie Meyer!
